Complete Exterior Remodel in Centerville, MN
This project in Centerville was a full exterior transformation, taking a standard vinyl-sided home and upgrading it into a modern, low-maintenance exterior built to last.
The homeowners had recently dealt with storm damage to the roof, which was replaced through insurance. At the same time, they made the decision to update the entire exterior.
This is their long-term home, and they wanted something that looked better, performed better, and wouldn’t need constant upkeep.
This one was especially meaningful.
We lived in this neighborhood for about 10 years, so getting the opportunity to complete this project for neighbors made it even better.
We take pride in every job, but projects like this, where there’s already a relationship, mean a little more.
Mixing Siding Styles for Depth
We combined:
- Lap siding
- Board and batten accents
Board and batten was used to introduce clean vertical lines and break up the horizontal layout, adding contrast without overcomplicating the design.
Stone & Cedar Accents
To avoid a flat, one-dimensional look:
- Manufactured stone was added to the front of the home and garage
- Cedar-wrapped porch posts were used to bring in warmth
The contrast between dark siding, stone, and natural wood creates a balanced, finished look that stands out without being overdone.
Rebuilding the Front Entry
One of the biggest upgrades on this project was the front porch.
The original was a small covered landing. We removed it and rebuilt:
- A larger front porch (nearly double the size)
- A more prominent gable design
- A layout that improves both function and curb appeal
This change alone significantly improved how the home feels from the street and how the entry is used day-to-day.
Additional Upgrades
Along with the siding and porch work, the project included:
- Full roof replacement
- New aluminum soffit and fascia
- Garage door replacement
- Select window replacements
- Installation of a full 5" gutter system
The design also accounted for roof runoff and water flow, especially around areas like the back deck, to ensure long-term performance.
